Doesn't matter what your opinion is on the game, this is not a subjective thing. It's objective.

Slam in any game on the Gensis and you're playing that game.
Slam in any game on the PS1 and after a brief logo you're playing that game.

Now Xbox one and PS4 and PC first you gotta install, then update, then every single game takes ages to install, then you gotta download the patches and you have to go through 14 logos, 3 loading screens and a dozen liscense agreements.

Then you don't get to play the full game, to do that you have to pay for whatever X service subscription to do multiplayer and also buy the on disc DLC to play half the game and then during the game be prompted for Lootboxes and Microtransactions.

I was reflecting on this the other day when I went to a friends house and he wanted to show me a game and it took over 3 hours before he got to the point where he could press buttons. He couldn't even leave it on the background and watch something else because you keep having to input stuff and there's different varations of things that need to updated or installed.

In that time we could have gone though a dozen Genesis Classics.

Somewhere along the way the game developers stopped caring about that and now young gamers and fanboy older games just are attuned to accepting it.

^ Hey now that's completely unfair.
