While I think its really sweet of the dispatcher to do that, considering how much of an isssue it can be to waste their time like that..is this the type of thing we should be ok with? Police serve all kinds of roles. You can ask them for directions or whatever. Actually, just the other day one helped me find a store in the mall. I guess he could tell I was looking for something. Well yea but I wouldnt call 911 for that. I get that. Im talking about sending the officers over to him. Thats quite a bit different than an officer on the street giving me directions. I have no strong feelings either way just thinking out loud. There's always lulls in activity on a shift. Rarely are you going from call to call to call. Nothing is wasted by sending an officer over there.
