I read a bunch of articles about how Down Syndrome is essentially eradicated in Iceland because pretty much every woman that gets tested with a Down Syndrome positive result gets an abortion. Now, I know that some people with Down Syndrome can live almost independent lives with little assistance but some are totally disabled and dependent on others for care until they die. There's a big range between. And you don't know the severity until it's born. I don't see why if your baby has a potentially totally disabling disease or syndrome you would want to subject them to that.
