I agree with all the people saying he needed to at least be thrown a bone about the real plan instead of being left to sit and stew thinking Holdo was just gonna do nothing until they all died. Even if you think that since he was demoted he has no right to do anything than just take order and shut up, he was just demoted. Ergo he was probably still in the mindset that he had more authority and importance than his newly designated position allowed him, and it's reasonable to assume he would still act like a commander instead of a captain. And on top of him seeming to not know who Holdo was when she was introduced, it's a pretty easy conclusion to draw that he won't trust her and take matters into his own hands. It was stupid characters doing stupid things that were necessary to move the plot along, which is usually bad storytelling. And fyi if Poe hadn't kamekazied the bombers in the dreadnought it would have blasted the Mon Calamari capital ship anyway, so... Also why was them being tracked through hyperspace such a surprise anyway? Obi Wan tracked Jango from Kamino to Geonosis with a simple tracking beacon on the hull of the ship. --- You're such a boring characterless entity.
