okay we're starting this on Jan 2 so tentatively noms close on Jan 1, 11:59 PM PST. but realistically the round won't start until later on in the day anyway so the hours before that are fair game for noms as well.

at this point i'm thinking 7 is the number of noms to hit to guarantee a spot (including doubles). that's at minimum, 4 people nominating a character (3 doubles + 1 single). i'll probably end up lowering the threshold to 5 by the end if the pool of voters remains relatively the same.
