It has to do with pork prices. If they don't drop as they normally do during the time they'd be producing the patties, they don't get made. Pretty sure it was a bad year for pork. The limited availability also drives some people crazy when it comes out. It's risk free easy money for the company. Don't sell it unless you can get the cheap meat.
