Unfortunately I think the kid will remember and carry it with him the rest of his life. 3 years old might have been too young to understand what he was doing was dangerous, but it's old enough to make memories of traumatic events like this.

The mother sounds like a complete moron, on so many levels. But I think proving neglect in this case is pretty hard. She didn't leave the kids home alone etc. Just because the kid was in the kitchen alone doesn't prove neglect.


I know, that's why I said maybe neglect. And I only even say maybe because of how it mentions him being alone with the stove after having a habit of playing with the burners.

Either way I doubt she'll actually be convicted of anything. If anything probably just mandatory counseling for the kid and cps check ups for a while.
