To be honest I don't really care about Steam Winter Sale anymore...
And I used to, really. I looked forward to the Winter Sale every year and bought stuff
But the last two years..I didn't care, at all. I only purchased $70 worth of games because I felt bad for not buying anything and decided to go crazy, and it was at the last day of the sale

I assume it's because of -
1.Too much shit games, when I am drowning in games and the games that are actually good doesn't stand out, I lost interest. Also because it makes me feel overwhelmed by the amount of games
2.Flash Sales - now this is a big one
I don't know who in Valve decided to remove them, but I can't believe it turned out to be a smart discussion
The idea of the Flash Sales was brilliant - first, you put a deadline, thus making "on the fence" buyers feel like they must buy the game before the deal runs out of time
Second, you make the deal "special" - if the game was 60% off, now it's 80%
Third, you almost guarantee a purchase - because hey, the game will not get any cheaper in foreseeable future, so if I won't buy it again, and I will buy it in the future, it will probably cost me more - so I will buy it now
And last, you make the Winter Sale actually worth something and makes it different from the rest. Because right now I can't tell the difference between the Winter Sale, Summer Sale, Automn Sell, Spring Sell, Halloween Sale or whatever the hell you call them
The Winter Sell doesn't stand out anymore..
