Out of annoyance more than anything else. Dumb hill to die on but it is strangely insulting to me when they act like I have to let them see my receipt. Thats my receipt they can get their own if they like looking at them so bad

Its my stuff, I already paid for it. You cant keep me from leaving your store with my stuff. Im not gonna wait in a line to leave behind other shoppers so you can make some poor old veteran evaluate receipts.

If they really want to make sure everything gets scanned, train the cashiers to do so.

Christmas shopping 5 years ago at Walmart, incredibly crowded, long checkout lines, lackadaisical cashiers, finally checked out, got to the door 20 feet away, jerkwood door man wants my receipt: who knows where the receipt is, might be in one of the sacks, might be in my purse, might be in a parka pocket, wherever I stuffed it when I finally got checked out. When I found my receipt, I took it to the long line at the service desk and got a refund... wasted a lot of time, but why reward stores for behavior like that? Went to Target to finish my shopping.

I can count on the fingers of one hand how many times I've been to Walmart since. My business isn't going to make or break a store, but I definitely vote with my dollars.
