There are so many guys at my gym that shoot and it's always an awkward conversation when they ask if I want to go to the range.

So you should go. It'll increase your testosterone and improve your gains.

It's not a lifting gym. MMA. And I don't think I'd pass a background check.

What state are you in? Different states have different mental hygiene laws. When I was on rotation in a psych ward in NY, we didnt report everyone: just people who we felt could harm themselves or others, including a history of violence, serious suicide attempts, and poorly controlled schizophrenia/psychotic disorder. We still had a lot of patients who were admitted but didnt need a report filed, and thats in one of the strictest states.

I haven't been hospitalized in 7 years so who knows. It's a range too so it's not like I'd bring the gun home with me.

You can ask the guys at the gym if theres any check in process, but at all the ranges I've been to, if you're a member, you can walk right in and bring guests if you want and no one asks any questions.
