I just beat it without any protective buffs whatsoever beyond Sazh's Chocobo Chick magic blink. Yeah Balthier got one shotted by Thundaga but who cares. Sabin + Locke + Balthier bring so much hurt with 3 soul bars to start. History's Truth RW too good too.
Welcome to the speed-kill no healer/wall meta. Current sought after relics offer such crazy DPS that most weekly event bosses will be dead before your healer even builds a bar. Cid Missions are pretty much the only challenge with weekly events (or unless it's a status effect heavy boss or have some gimmick like Shadowlord or Mom Bomb.) Stuff like Marche's USB, Ramza's LM, Shelke battery (and Morrow if we ever get him) hone chaser mages, Tidus' USB+chain and Bartz have shifted the meta towards this. Onion Knight's USBs and LMR drops tonight as well so now we'll be seeing sub10 magicite runs by some folk in global soon.
'course the game is still going to have hard as fuck bosses in the future through, 4* magicite, Ozma, Zeromus, the FF7 Weapons, new torment difficulty ect to make those new relics desirable. Weekly event ultimates are just going to be a stepping stone even with a new difficulty coming up.

Can someone tell me how to Native Cloud USB retaliate to take out Magicites? And if it works on all 6. Like what's the plan, and abilities and such you use to do it.
I use Cloud to beat Fenrir with hailstorm, but it's barely a 1 minute sub. Even then it's Rosa who's the most important member on that team due to her USB and wrath, I'm probably going to go mage for a sub 30 team when I get Rinoa and Lulu legend dived and if I get OK's Sage USB. I guess you can also use him against golem but you need his BSB2 or a high honed Tornado Strike (or wait until that 4 hit spellblade comes out) because of his barrier and once you break that Golem go aoe crazy so you need to kill him ASAP and Cloud may not be fast enough without his BSB2 or Marche. Other than that it's just using the 5* spellblade that's the magicite's weakness, or Omega Drive.
Well, there is a retaliate strategy too, but I don't know what tools I need to do it. Obviously Zack's Chain probbaly helps tons cause it's Attack boost and Chant combined. But I don't know what else.
