You think undoing the Trump legacy is going to be easy? If they do lose in 2018, then yes. More specifically, if we make it another year with no major legislation passed (like 2017 except for the tax bill) then we have a lame duck for the next two years. So no major laws. Also, if no Supreme Court dies or resigns, then they can just vote no or pull a McConnell from 2019 onwards. Most of what Trump is doing that is bad comes from appointments and executive orders. These are easily repaired, as we saw how quickly Trump was able to damage Obama's. I have high hopes if we have a blue wave this year that we can fairly easily repair the damage assuming a 2020 Dem president who doesn't crave bipartisanship like Obama. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
