I've heard of parents giving permission to certain people sometimes... Then they're bad parents if it's a non relative. I'm not saying it's good to give permission to non-relatives. But I guess it would depends on how close the families were. Like maybe the parents were close or something. Possibly best friends. I mean, this may not apply to this person, but it could for others.
