nah I don't think that's really plausible tbh

California isn't even that hospitable to the homeless (except climate wise, it is nice most of the year)

Ive read a few slice of life articles about homeless people who made the trip because benign homeless is a hot city was better than in a cold, wet rural area. Nothing statistically proving that a lot of people do it though.

I don't remember if it's LA or SF, but there's literally a major city in California that has robots to chase away homeless people away from parking lots
