I'm not a fan of ImmortalityV's thought process. A social construct may be illogical, but still socially prevalent. Something being a social construct ("white" people) doesn't negate the existence of actual consequences (white privilege), good OR bad, from transpiring, on account of the social construct.

Being a "hippy" is a social construct, but "hippy" culture influenced aspects of the 60s. Post-WWII Soviet Communism (Stalinism) was a social construct, but it influenced everything in the USSR for the better part of a century.

Be proud of your heritage, where your people are from, the foods they make, the culture you share with them. But know that your and my white ancestors benefited from the brutal subjugation of people of color. You don't have to personally feel guilty about it, because as an adult, you should be able to separate your emotions and your thought process on historical matters.
