It's only justifiable if you can come up with a benefit for it. State what good bullying will achieve, and it's justified. But that's an uphill task.

Imo even if an asshole is bullied, they will just become a bigger asshole. Garbage in, garbage out; I don't see why someone would respond to negative treatment with positive behavior. And in bullying them you're also an asshole (but of course, you won't think you deserve to be bullied).

If you don't like how someone acts, you should tell them upfront what they're doing to irritate you. And distance yourself from them if they don't change. Don't be passive-aggressive about it.

I never got the bad home life justification for bullies. There is nothing excluding the bullying target from having a bad home life on top of being bullied elsewhere, so they may still have it worse.
