I think this answers your question. They think their opinion matters for the same reason a plumber does. Or a truck driver. Or a waitress. Or any number of other professions. People tend to put importance on their own opinions, much like you're doing now.

Again, you're completely missing the point.

Never said celebrities had no right to an opinion. I did say that they are fools who are disconnected from the real world for thinking their opinions are to be blurted out in a televised award ceremony that ostensibly has nothing to do with politics.
