So many people do it because it looks good on a resume. Or it makes them feel good for caring. I don't think there's any real altruism in volunteering, the volunteer is getting something out of it, and others benefit from the help. Winning all around. Maybe a pod, like a group of them. :P I have been volunteering at bingo fundraisers for a while now. it's 5 hours once a month or so, meet the same regulars. I can reach several cities in that radius. I can't imagine going any wider than that, because that's just asking for a long-distance relationship. Bad idea, when I hate driving with a passion. Hmmm, that's fair. Well you're limited by your radius's population. Want more options? You have to move.
