It's Mystile, not Aegis Armlet. Or it might have been "both, but Mystile is even better" - I do remember there being another one that was almost as good. And no, it's not the magic evade, it's the magic defence that's bugged. Mystile definitely sounds familiar, but I can't remember for sure. Whichever one gave you something like 60% magic evade.
