I'm with you. Never played one, didn't know much about it and preordered it blind. Didn't play the beta. 63 hours into it at this point, i'm definitely a Hammer/Gunlance guy, loving the straight crushing damage in support of my two other friends who bring other weapons, buffs, and skills to the table.

The game is honestly thrilling, it's consuming my life. Some of the monster designs are outstanding, and the worlds and environments are amazing. At times, it has the challenge of a Dark Souls game, with the depth of an incredible RPG like Witcher 3.

I didn't know going into it how stupidly addicted I would become, but I really have and it's so fun. The little things like adding pets to your room and a sick aquarium makes it even more rewarding. Some aspects I haven't even tinkered with yet, but learning is half the fun. I see myself putting hundreds of hours into this, I hope they support it well with DLC and draw out the appeal.
