See above There's a red line you can't spawn past, that moves further down as you advance down the mountain. By spawning as close to the line as possible you move it. Rinse repeat until you're camping the enemy spawns. Reducing their standing forces to 0 ends the battle regardless of how many reinforcements they still had to deploy.
