Harpie 02/09/18 8:27:24 PM #1: | My Breast Reduction - 1 Year Post-Op Hi ce! It's officially been one year since my breast reduction and I wanted to give you guys (and myself) an update. Size (pre-op) 36HH Size (post-op) 36D Weight of breasts (pre-op) ~12lbs Weight of tissue removed 3.5lb from my right breast and 4.5lb from my left Why I ultimately decided to get a breast reduction The main reason was pain. Physical pain. And lots of it. Because my breasts weighed in at around a total of 12-13lbs, they would put a huge strain on my back. Sure, that might not seem like a lot of weight, but having it constantly pulling down on my chest was exhausting. My back would often seize up and I wouldn't be able to move for hours. Another lesser reason for getting it done was cosmetic. I hated the way they looked and felt. And being just under 5'0, it looked unnatural and top heavy. I hated them. Recovery This part was a little difficult. I was bedridden for almost a week after surgery. Luckily most of that time I was on oxycodone. You don't realize how often you use muscles in your torso until you suddenly can't use them. I had an army of pillows at my disposal to create a sort of ramp for my back to lay on and prevent myself from rolling to my side in my sleep. Getting up was also a nightmare. I had to have my sisters pull me up by my shoulders if I wanted to get up for any reason. Scarring The scarring has healed quite nicely, if I do say so myself! I never used any kind of creams or oils, so I'm surprised at my results. They went from a bright pinkish red to an off-white color. And with me being pretty pale that makes them almost invisible Regrets I have none! I love the way they turned out, I love the size, I love the freedom it gives me, I love everything about them. My back hasn't so much as ached for over a year, and my self confidence is the highest it's ever been. My breasts are small and I love it :) Gallery
