I wouldn't say I've ever 'gotten through' or 'conquered' my anxiety. The meds work for four months or so, insofar as I'm not an insomnia-ridden nervous wreck. I sleep well, but I get some gnarly vivid nightmares. At the four month mark, I get some very unpleasant side-effects, namely increased OCD and feeling like I'm going insane.

So at that mark, I get drunk, which is what I call a 'factory reset.' I hate being drunk, but it essentially resets the meds. I get a nasty hangover, a week of feeling shit, then it's back to what I refer to as 'equilibrium' for four months.

Unfortunately, I don't think you ever 'cure' anxiety, it's about finding healthy coping mechanisms. For me, that's four months of meds and then a night on the town.
