This is why people hate cops. And yes, cops are just doing their jobs. But all these ridiculous laws are forcing the interactions to happen, and people don't like cops getting in their business over such petty things.

But laws are laws for a reason. Wearing the seatbelt over your chest like normal has a higher chance of saving your life opposed to just the lap belt. Im sure if you got into an accident, that $100 ticket the cop gave you wouldnt really matter if your life was spared opposed to dying. Its a petty thing up until its the difference between life and death

But the reality is that most people do NOT like being hassled by the police for things like this. They don't like being treated like a criminal for simply not wearing a seatbelt. It makes people feel uneasy and it makes the society we live in feel like a police state.

If being treated like a criminal is what it takes to potentially save your life, the ends justify the means. Even if its just 1 death that was prevented, that life being spared is more important than your feelings. Stop being dumbasses and you wont get treated like dumbasses. Were not talking about littering or spitting on the ground here, were talking about something that has saved hundreds of thousands of lives.
