Leia is Luke's brother so she's got a ton of potential and 20-odd years to learn to tap into it. In the old EU, she became a Jedi master. Obviously she didn't here (which I'm kinda ticked about) but sustaining your body and moving through a vacuum don't seem like particularly strenuous tasks for a force-wielder to accomplish. ...One thing that is odd about the scene is the fact that she manages to fly back to the fleeing cruiser which is presumably moving at top speed.
