I don't see what's controversial about that statement.

Moving something through a vacuum has got to be easier than moving something through air/against gravity/etc. There's less working against you.

Force healing is already a thing in canon. Sustaining your body seems easier than healing it. To me it makes intuitive sense that the Force could cover for you for a bit if you needed to hold your breath or keep your organs where they needed to be.
