Three times ends the quest, actually. Unless someone ate for Felyne Insurance before the quest, which forgives one cart.

Has it always been like this in previous MH installments? I know in MH4U hunts were scaled based on the number of monsters. When hunting a single monster its health would be 100% of its norm for example but when hunting two of them, their health are reduced. I co-oped through most of it with one friend with a third occasionally joining us so can't say if I noticed a difference between two and three players.

Monsters get 2.6 times the health in multiplayer which isn't that bad. And yes, in multi-monster hunts, the monsters all have less health. I actually think 4 players is overkill when people know what they're doing.

EDIT: Speaking of LBG, I watched a video and it seems much more mobile now but the video didn't mention critical distance. Is that still a thing where you deal the most damage by being at a certain distance from your target?

Yeah, It's still a thing. The game even directly displays "OUT OF RANGE" when you're not in critical distance now.

Also I use mostly Lance and Charge Blade in this game. I try to pick at least two new weapons each game. I've played these games for like 1400 hours though so I'm a big MH nerd.
