My friends and I will still randomly bust out "Zhuge Liang... THE WIND!" on occasion. That was a great game with loads of personality. Glad to see I'm not the only one that agrees that DW3 was the pinnacle. There may be some nostalgia to it and to be fair it was the first one I played, but even beyond that, there are many objective things that I feel like they took out or did worse in basically every subsequent release that I feel objectively make them not as good. Two of the major ones being unique weapons (except in like 1 or 2 cases) and the fact that every map was different. They didn't re-use maps and call it a different battle. They re-used maps or sections of a map A LOT in DW4 and have done so to some degree in every release I've played since (I never played 7 and barely played 6 at all) Also people have always complained about the voice acting but I've always found it funny and it never bothered me. To this day my brother and I bust out the Yuan Shao "All units..CHARGE!" line, among others. That game was great. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
