So many of these arguments hinge on people asserting that trans women aren't real women. That's just wrong. This isn't letting a man play with women. This is giving a trans woman the go ahead to play in a league that has been cis. And good for her. and it will just be pure coincidence that the women who join, and then collectively dominate this league, will all be trans. it will have nothing to do with them being biologically male and therefore having an absurd advantage over the actual women they compete against. You men seem to care a lot more than women do. actually, my wife is pretty steamed over it. also, youre begging the question. not everyone agrees that the best way to treat a mental disorder is to feed into it, and so not everyone believes that its accurate to call this person a woman. Why is your wife mad that one Australian sports league allowed a trans woman to play with cis women? She has been allowed to participate in other women's leagues before this it sets a pretty shitty precedent since, as you said, he started out playing in other leagues. no doubt smaller, less reputable ones, which also set precedents to get him into a larger, more notable league. and because my wife has a brain, and therefore can see the advantage a man would have playing a sport (particularly a heavy contact one) against women. She. She started in other leagues yes. She is not a man. I agree that people that are larger have some advantages with some sports, but that's true regardless of gender or what gonads someone is born with. Women with high natural testosterone are going to have some advantages over other women.
