Well, since THAT defense is gone, the cultists will fall back on "it happened so long ago"

oh, the Trumpers wouldn't care if he fucked 5000 different women at the same time while he was married to his 5th wife. they've demonstrated that his personal morals are irrelevant to his leadership.

Would you consider JFK a good president? How about Bill Clinton?

sure, but im not part of a group that claims to represent "family values". note that the same party that flipped their collective shit over a blowjob because "muh morals" is now supporting a man who has repeatedly demonstrated he has none.

I'm not about to defend republican hypocrisy, because it's very real. I'm asking if democrats are going to continue to hold themselves to the higher standard they advertise, or whether we're all just going to be flinging shit openly, because that changes the rules of the game.

pointing out the Republican hypocrisy does not imply the Democrats are putting themselves at a 'higher standard' so im not sure why you're trying to argue with me about that. my comment was about Republican hypocrisy, nothing more.

And my comment was dems didn't care when 2 dem presidents were involved in sex scandals WHILE president, so they shouldn't care that a republican president is caught in one prior to being in office. If you're acknowledging that dems are just as bad in terms of hypocrisy, though, then we agree and there's nothing to discuss.

Democrats don't run on a platform of religious family values, nor do their voters vote based on those issues as republicans do. It's intellectually dishonest to try to present the argument in the fashion that you are.
