There is no law that can stop all of this outright. Its sad, but true. That said, there are laws that can either slow someone down or outright prevent SOME, and that is infinitely better than nothing. A lonely greasy haired kid, for example, is going to have a harder time getting one of these guns from a gang or the mob or what-have-you, and that can be a deterrent or lead them just using a knife for example, which is still awful but less swiftly destructive. Preventative policies will never prevent outright, but if SOME gun violence is reduced by a policy that slightly inconveniences gun owners without actually taking anything away, is that not worth it? --- ...
