The harsh truth is nothing can stop this, not a fucking gun ban, not fucking gun control, there's not a single thing you can do to stop people like this from killing people if they want to
But why do people want to do this? In the 80s, we had less than 4 school shootings per year on average. Last year we had 9. Find the common cause and try to eliminate it. Yes, it wont stop every future shootings, but it will reduce them.
Mental health issues + easy access to guns
Neither of these issues seem like they'll be fixed, so this is only going to continue to be normalized.
So why do we have so many mental health issues now? Did they raise or are the numbers the same? Did we discover them earlier in the past? What can be done to discover them earlier and/or prevent them from going crazy?
Ease of access is the main issue. Probably similar amounts in the past, but unable to see the signs, treatments, and lack of easy access to news and information makes it harder to report stuff.
Report what? School shootings? ---
