| Lorenzo_2003 02/16/18 6:54:32 PM #33: | Disregarding the Roman legions effectiveness for their time, the US has the most sophisticated and robust military fighting force that the World has ever seen. And yet a bunch of goat farmers and barely trained civilian fighters used primitive guerrila tactics and weapons to destabilize Afghanistan and surrounding areas for years. It is not easy to fight against a civilian population, especially when their superior military opponent is unwilling to use nuclear weapons and other Doomsday type of technology to suppress its opponents. When you add in the fact that many non-combat civilians inevitably sympathize with and support the guerrila fighters, it becomes even more difficult to resolve conflicts. --- ... ...
