But as I understand it, it goes a little something like this: Goldar was killed in the first episode of the Japanese version, but the American version decided to let him live and designed a new costume so that he could be a recurring character. The absence of his wings in all new footage was explained away by saying that they were taken from him as punishment for his defeat. He fought Jason in human form, but I don't think he ever again battled the Power Rangers. I kinda hoped for a rematch, but I guess one wasn't coming since they didn't have the stock footage for it.
