The idea that this is the only nation where this happens is racist, because it ignores the even worse atrocities committed in certain parts of the developing world that doesn't get much media coverage here. "At least we aren't Rwanda" is a low bar for America. I'm just tired of this "we're the only country that XXX" that essentially ignores much of the developing world. The world is not just the US, Australia + NZ, and Europe (oh and Canada too <3) We're better than the developing world. Agreed, but they are countries too. Shitholes are expected to be shitty. We aren't.
