It was also shown multiple times that he promised to always protect her, that it would always be the 2 of 'em and then left her to the Yakuza's "care" (from her point of view). Following that she was once again confronted with the fact that it would never be "just them" as he was prepared to sacrifice himself (the only thing she ever cared for) for others. Once again feeding her abandonment issues.
It's weird how you think mentally unstable people are always capable of realizing they need therapy. From her point of view, Kovacs is the insane one for caring about anyone else.
I agree with the sentiment in the OP, but her motivations, issues and reluctance to change/care for others was made clear enough
What doesn't make sense is how someone so mentally unstable was able to make something of themselves with such a glaring issue
I don't think that all mentally unstable people are capable of realizing their issues in a lifetime. In 250 years, with all of that money and those resources, it seems like there was very little character development or personal growth to have her not address that issue. That she is so quick to react that way still seems like just shitty writing IMO. What has she done with herself in that huge amount of time?
She is just a poorly developed character and I really couldn't care about her ---
