Topic	My gf and I fight pretty regularly over familial obligations

I can't count the number of times I've told my parents that I don't wanna see them because I already spent half my weekend with my gfs parents as it is. People don't have infinite free time... For people that really value family time, that is their recreation time to a degree. That's just something that gets scheduled and done. You aren't required to join your SO for it. But it is polite to. Their family is your family when you are together, and you can't avoid it all the time.
