You cant unless you restrict the 2A, unconstitutional, or have them consent to a medical background check. Why do you act as if the Constitution is sacrosanct? The Bill of Rights havent been screwed with for good reason: it sets a dangerous precedent. Alter the second? Lets change the first. Okay, now lets alter the fifth. And with identity politics driving our country it would cause a cluster fuck every time the next majority comes in. Interpretation by justices on the Supreme Court is one thing, but a total change would be disastrous. My friend, the 2nd amendment was put into place because the U.S. did not have a standing army at the time. Now that we have one, you can see why it might not be necessary... So after the US established a military, why didnt we just go ahead and ditch it? I'm no historian so I'm not going to pretend to be able to answer that, I just know that the revolutionary war was fought between redcoats and militiamen who didn't even have a uniform. without the 2nd amendment in place, they may not have been able to fight the British army. You do realize the Constitution was written after the war right?
