It's literally a tax designed to reduce people's usage of the stuff it's applied to, meaning that the amount of money it brings in is expected to fall year-over-year. BC successfully implemented a carbon tax like a dozen years ago, and even literal fucking Preston Manning is in favour of carbon tax as a concept. I don't care a fucking tinkers damn what it is SUPPOSED to do. Govco is in favour of it because it gives them money. I am NEVER in favor if more taxes. Taxation in total on the average Canadian is up past 40%.we don't need more taxation to pay for Justin Trudeaus horrific spending practices. Also, LAWL, designed to curb spending. Yeah, we'll just stop buying fuel and food since they have a carbon tax. Not even to mention that carbon ISN'T THE THING CAUSING CLIMATE CHANGE, and that Canada isn't a significant contributor to it globally anyway. Its a govco move to introduce another tax.
