Topic	Why do people think an assault rifle ban would ban AR-15s?

All those Tyrannical Governments want to keep you under their jack boots. They're VERY AFRAID of their citizens having power to OVER THROW and keep them in check. That's the #1 reason why every Country needs a 2nd Amendment Equivalent piece of law. People also seemed to have this view that the government is some sort of higher entity or enlightened group of people. They're not. They're just a group of fellow citizens. I think a lot of them do believe they're working in our best interests, though good intentions don't always result in good policy. Our president and other government officials have the benefit of armed security (sometimes even security with automatic weapons). We have Marines guarding the White House. The wealthy elite who are in favor of gun bans often have their own private security. So I will never accept that some portion of my fellow citizens gets to have their own armed security while I am not allowed to own a semi-automatic rifle for my own defense and that of my home. --- There's no business to be taxed. <cite>DifferentialEquation posted [p:896531633] in Why do peo...
