Topic	Why do people think an assault rifle ban would ban AR-15s?

They're not. They're just a group of fellow citizens. I think a lot of them do believe they're working in our best interests, though good intentions don't always result in good policy. Our president and other government officials have the benefit of armed security (sometimes even security with automatic weapons). We have Marines guarding the White House. The wealthy elite who are in favor of gun bans often have their own private security. So I will never accept that some portion of my fellow citizens gets to have their own armed security while I am not allowed to own a semi-automatic rifle for my own defense and that of my home. Good, then you should be fighting WITH US; supporting the defense of the 2nd Amendment and helping to export it to the rest of the world. There are too many tyrannical Authoritarian regimes and regimes that pretend to be Democratic but are really Authoritarian. We need to help "Enlighten" their people and bring Democracy and Freedom back to them. Yes, our form of Governance isn't perfect, but I have solutions for that.
