Malcolm X was basically a black klansman. They "respect" MLK because he didn't make white people feel as bad about themselves as Malcolm X did, despite having quite literally every reason to. It's very clear that your knowledge of both MLK and Malcolm X is watered down. MLK didnt resort to violence and wasn't about revenge, he just wanted to be treated fairly. Malcolm X coined the phrase "by any means necessary".
