Topic | What about physical security for schools? |
CableZL 02/23/18 1:50:04 PM #1: | Like... at my job, we have security cameras and all doors require a badge to get in. Doors can be programmed so that a certain badge or badges only have access to certain doors, and if you can't get in, you have to go to the visitor's desk. Each badge-detect generates a log that the security team can review. Like if I badge into the front door at 9pm, security can see that my badge was used to access the building at the exact time it was detected. Or they could go a step further and use biometric security, requiring a hand print or fingerprint for access. Suspended/expelled students can be easily denied access for a certain period of time, permanently, or on a schedule (no weekend or afterhours access). They could even have a centralized team per ISD that manages badge or biometric scannings for all schools in the district. Can't get in? Hit the button to call security or whatever on-site individual or team is appropriate. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
