I think a big part of it is the perception from watching the news about places like Berkeley where students riot whenever they don't like someone who is set to speak. This leads to the perception that college age people just can't handle disagreement in a rational manner, which is an important skill in the business world. You have to be able to deal with people without flying off the handle and just shouting to drown them out in order to be successful in business.
