The left is about the government raising the floor so nobody is ever in a situation where they suffer, the right is about giving supplies to the most competent so their performance can make the most gains out of the limited supplies. The left expects the government to protect the people as individuals, the right expects the most successful to support the less successful in their family units. The left relies on a central government to manage the entire country to make a unified utopia, the right relies on the government to protect the means for every family to make a localised utopia for their interests.
