Topic | Why does AT&T always have to be such a pain to deal with |
CableZL 03/08/18 2:38:53 PM #4: | AT&T: Our logs show that your device went down Me: What is it that's telling you our device went down? AT&T: We see your IP address in the logs going down Me: You see BGP going down, not our device. Our router has been powered on for 34 weeks and we have 0 interface resets in the past 3 days. AT&T: But we see your device going down. The problem was on your end. Me: No, you see BGP going down, not our device. If you log into your router, you can see that your port facing us did not go down. You can also see that your router did not go down. AT&T: The IP address we see going down is your IP. So that's your device. Me: You see the IP address going down according to BGP. If our device went down, then you would see an interface drop on your managed router on the interface going toward us. Your managed router is in between our router and your circuit, and you don't see the connection between your managed router and ours go down at all. The .73 address is your router, and AT&T: No, .73 is not us. There is no .73 IP Me: Yeah, .73 is your managed router. .74 is our IP and .73 is you. AT&T: That is not true. Me: Log into your router and you'll see it. AT&T: Alright, let me do that. *Waits* AT&T: OK, let me put you on hold. Jesus. It shouldn't be this difficult. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
