No, Neo-Nazis are still people. They're just bad people. I was speaking of morality. The morality of an average person is complex. The morality of a Neo Nazi is not.

Okay fair enough but I don't think you understand the relationship between people and their beliefs very well. I never said the nazi belief system is complex, I said the neo nazis are, b/c all people are. We don't know why people have the beliefs they do and oftentimes they themselves don't know why. Categorizing them as an irredeemable "other" without respect for that complexity isn't solving the issue of dangerous ideologies, because oftentimes people don't adopt those ideologies because they are worse than other people in any particular moral sense, they do so for other reasons

It's frustrating how we have no respect for the fact that people are complex anymore. They're all bad people? Is it not possible that they're just misguided? Are they so irredeemable that you can't fathom them growing out of those beliefs over time? Or should we just box them into a deplorable category and punch them in the face, allowing their ideology to spread underground and get more powerful?

I'm fine with more severe punishments if they think about trying to get more powerful and trying to harm other people.

You really don't get how ideas spread at all do you

Ethnic cleansing is bad and people who support it as a core part of their ideology are bad people. Cancer gets wiped out, not coddled.

Ideas are not exactly like a like cancer though, they don't get wiped out the way you are trying to approach it
