Except for one huge problem. The odds are overwhelming that when you materialize at your destination in time, your destination in space is likely to be the black void of space. The Earth, the entire solar system, it's place in the galactic plane, and even the space between everything has changed in the time between then and now whether you're going forwards or backwards. All of this also ignores the second law of thermodynamics.
