comics are written for adults now. kids don't read comics anymore. the average comic reader is in their 30's. modern comics are pretty mature compared to the stuff from even the 90's and before.

Maus was serialized in the early 80's. Sandman 1989-96, with Lucifer following soon after. Swamp Thing hit its peak under Moore starting in 1984. Watchmen was 86. Osamu Tezuka starting publishing in 1946.

While the main demographic might have changed, that doesn't mean there aren't comics that are practically classic literature from that era.

well I meant mostly DC (main universe not imprints) and marvel. super hero stories have matured . kids just play games and watch movies. they have no interest in comics
