Id say its important to remember that any ideology can be taken to the levels of extremism and appropriated by violent and unbalanced individuals. Social isolation will give you a warped view of society over time, what they are, what they deserve. Subtly influenced by jealousy, never rectified because they never interact. You don't have enough self-awareness you'll go completely rotten. I find it strange people don't understand people like him. Then again, I'm "quiet, well mannered, friendly" and "a loner" too. They're always too reserved, you have to be an asshole sometimes or the dam will burst eventually. (Or at least I was a loner, these days I'm not so much.) Mind you, I might understand the way a guy would go nuts and kill random people the same way you understand why a guy would kill someone for money.
